It seems as if life is moving at a breakneck pace. And in my opinion, the older you get, the faster it zooms. While I don’t necessarily pine for the slower pace of my childhood (I’m way too much in love with my iPhone for that, not to mention that I was a completely awkward teenager and I NEVER want to go back to those days), more and more I think we all need to pause every once in a while, and appreciate the moment we’re in. Stop and take a breath and realize that this moment – wherever you are, whatever you’re doing – will never happen again.
Of course, it’s easy to hand out that advice and much harder to live by it. I’ve been trying, and trying, and trying some more. I’m trying new things, and rediscovering some old things that I forgot I liked to do. I’ve been a little successful at a couple things, and have failed miserably at others. But I have to say, it’s been a very enlightening journey. I thought I had most things in my life figured out, and I’m realizing (well, DUH!) that I’m pretty clueless and there is so much more for me to learn, to understand and to experience.
Being an animal lover all my life, the title “Paws and Think” seemed a no-brainer for this site. The unconditional love our pets give us is just one example of living for the moment that I think everyone should emulate. So, take a “PAWS,” snuggle up with a furry friend, and welcome to my journey.
